Employment-based visas:
- H-1B visa (Professional in Specialty Occupation) allows a United States employer to fill a position requiring the minimum of a baccalaureate in the particular field with a qualified worker from abroad.
- H-4 visa (H-1B Dependent) allows the foreign worker to bring the spouse and children under the age of 21 years to the United States.
- L-1 visa (Intra-company transferee) allows key employees to be posted temporarily at the United States parent, subsidiary, affiliate, or branch office.
- Blanket L-1 approvals for a large, multinational company pre-qualifies the employer to transfer L-1 professionals relatively quickly.
- L-2 visa (L-1 Dependent) allows the dependents of the foreign professional to enter the United States and is permitted to work with work authorization from USCIS.
- E-1 visa (Treaty Trader/ Investor Visa) is for individuals coming to the United States to carry on substantial trade.
- E-2 visa (Treaty Trader/ Investor Visa) is for individuals coming to the United States to invest a substantial amount of capital or to direct and develop the business operations of an entity in which the individual has already invested funds.
- B-1 visa (Visitor) allows the foreign visitor to come to the United States for business purposes.
- Green card or permanent residence can be filed for individuals and their families on the basis of the existing employment status with the current employer.
Family-based visas:
- Green card or permanent residence for the spouse of a United States citizen.
- Green card or permanent residence for parents, brothers, sisters of a United States citizen.
- Green card or permanent residence for spouse and children of United States Green card holders.
- K visas allow a United States citizen's fiancé to enter the United States to get married. Children from previous marriages can also enter the country on the K visas.
- V visas allow the Green Card holders foreign spouse and children who have been waiting for at least 3 years in the home country to immigrate to the United States.
- F-1 visas allow foreign students to study in the United States for the duration of their studies.
- F-2 visas allow the spouse and children under the age of 21 years old of the foreign student to company him or her to the United States.
- B-2 visa allows a foreign visitor to enter the United States with the intention to tour the country.
